Extracurricular Activities

Student Body President, UT, Memphis (2001-2) – presided over the SGA executive council which is composed of the presidents of all UT Memphis colleges; represented all students of UT Memphis to the faculty and administration

University of Tennessee Board of Trustees Faculty and Student Council, member (2001-2) -- This committee deals with issues that concern students and faculty members on all campuses of UT; one student from each campus sits on this council.

UT National Alumni Association Board of Governors, member (2001-2)

UT, Memphis Financial Aid Advisory Board, member (1999-2001) – One student and the Dean of Student Affairs from each college constitute this council. This committee serves to make improvements in the services offered by the Office of Financial Aid at UT.

Medical Student Executive Council, class representative (1999-2002) – elected by my classmates to represent them in the College of Medicine student government

University of Tennessee Board of Trustees Health Affairs Committee, member (1997-8) – One student from each UT campus serves on this committee to bring a student perspective of health related issues that involve UT.

Senior Gift Challenge Steering Committee, chairman (1997-8) – This committee is composed of seniors who work to select a gift that the senior class will leave to the university. After gift selection, the committee members solicit donations to fund the gift. Our class erected a brick entrance to a part of the campus.

Interfraternity Council, vice-president (1997-8) – The IFC is the governing body for fraternities.

Student Government Association – Executive Advisory Board, chairman (1997-8); Senator (1996-8); Senate Selections Committee (1996-7)

Vol Corps Chancellor’s Ambassadors (1996-8) – The official tour guides for UT work to recruit new students to UT and to assist the Chancellor at various UT functions.

Student Alumni Associates, member (1996-8) – This organization works with the UTNAA and the administration by helping with alumni events on campus and by traveling across the mid-south to attend area alumni meetings.
